John Maina, the celebrated reggae hypemaster known to fans as MC Fullstop, has passed away after a prolonged battle with lung tuberculosis. His death marks the end of a long struggle with the illness, which had left him unable to walk or work in his final years.

MC Fullstop became a household name in Kenya's reggae scene, first rising to prominence on television and later becoming a fixture at live shows. His signature hype style was a staple for many reggae lovers, with his performances often recorded and distributed on CDs.

His health struggles were public, and he had been open about his condition since 2023. At one point, he had to personally address and shut down viral online rumors of his death, criticizing those who spread unconfirmed news about his health.

In a candid interview, he revealed the devastating impact of the disease, which had rendered him immobile and unable to continue his career. Following this revelation, a paybill number was set up to help him manage his condition. The fundraiser initially faced skepticism from the public until MC Fullstop himself confirmed its authenticity, prompting an outpouring of support from fellow entertainers and fans alike.
