$153M Worth of Cocaine Hidden in Banana Shipment Siezed By Russian Authorities.

In a real-life plot twist that looks like an episode of "Narcos", Russian customs officers just pulled off their biggest drug bust of the year by uncovering 820 kilograms of cocaine hidden underneath a shipment of bananas.

Street value?  $153 million worth of high-end powder packed into neat briquettes stamped with a French luxury fashion logo. Yes, the smugglers went full designer for this one.

The stash was discovered with a little help from the FSB (Russia’s powerful security agency), who worked with intel from “foreign colleagues” to track down a South American trafficking group allegedly trying to open a new route into Russia’s black market.

According to officials, the cocaine was cleverly stashed in a “hidden cavity” beneath the bananas. A criminal investigation has been launched, and anyone caught could be facing a life sentence. Russia doesn’t mess around when it comes to drug laws.

Cocaine trafficking into Russia has apparently spiked in the past two years. With the war in Ukraine disrupting routes (especially via the Ukrainian port of Odessa), international smugglers are allegedly eyeing Russia as a new trafficking hotspot.

Move over Narcos—Russia might be getting its own drug war drama.
