Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has publicly denounced a viral social media post claiming he was appointed to lead a peace dialogue mission in Côte d'Ivoire. The post, which began circulating on Wednesday, August 6, alleged that the Azimio principal was part of an African Union delegation for the upcoming West African elections.

The deceptive post, designed to look authentic, featured a forged signature from the African Union Commission Chairperson. It falsely stated that Musyoka's "extensive continental experience" and "successful mediation role in South Sudan" qualified him for the mission.

The post sparked widespread concern among Kenyans and led to questions about Kalonzo’s potential connections to President Ruto's administration. In a swift response, Kalonzo labeled the post "absolutely fake" and a scheme by political opponents to damage his reputation.

"Absolutely fake! I will always stand with the people of Kenya. I will not dialogue with those who abduct young Kenyans," Kalonzo wrote in a statement dismissing the allegations. He reaffirmed his commitment to standing against what he called a "repressive regime."

This is not the first time Kalonzo has criticized the Ruto administration. The United Opposition team member has consistently accused the government of human rights violations and other wrongdoings. Just five days ago, he criticized President Ruto for failing to uphold the rule of law and intimidating independent institutions.

Kalonzo also recently dismissed Deputy President Kithure Kindiki’s empowerment programs as a "fabricated scheme" to serve those in power. "This employment thing amounts to a misuse of office; they think they can bribe Kenyans. They will not get away with it," he stated.
