In an exciting move that has gotten Kenyan football fans talking, 19-year-old Aldrine Kipchirchir Kibet has officially signed with Spanish La Liga side RC Celta Vigo in a 6  million Euro deal. The young midfielder’s journey from the dusty fields of Kitale to the elite pitches of Spain is nothing short of extraordinary—a story of raw talent, unrelenting ambition, and a dream realized.

A GenZ born in 2006, Kibet burst onto the national scene in August 2023 during the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) games. Representing the famed Solidarity Boys ( St. Anthony’s Boys Kitale), where he crushed in jaw-dropping 25 goals and 27 assists in the tournament; including nine goals in a single match against  Weaverbird—making him the Most Valuable player nationwide.

Kibet then joined Nàstic Sports Academy in Tarragona, Spain where he had to adapt to European style football in tactical training and mental conditioning. He quickly became king of the mid-field in youth tournaments across Spain.
Shining in Kenya’s Under 20 squad at the CECAFA Championship and participating in the Valladolid International Cup in 2024 caught the eyes of European giants as interest poured in from elite clubs.

Scouts from both Real Madrid and Barcelona began tracking the young midfielder, intrigued by his blend of flair, vision, and attacking instinct. It was Celta Vigo who acted decisively, securing his signature in July 2025.

The deal, believed to be one of the highest for a Kenyan teenager, sees Kibet join Celta Vigo’s developmental side, Celta Fortuna, with a clear pathway to La Liga first-team action.
