Kenya's withdrawal from the Cecafa four Nations Tournament which includes Kenya Senegal , Uganda and Tanzania set to kick off yesterday in Arusha, has sparked bad blood between Harambee stars and Cecafa.
Despite the national team landing in Arusha for the CHAN preparations on Saturday morning, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) announced that the team would be withdrawing due to what the coach Benni McCarthy termed as poor preparations by the tournament organizers.
Cecafa has decided to go on with the tournament even after Kenya's withdrawal. In a presser by Auka Gecheo, Cecafa Secretary General, said the move was unfair given that the body had met Kenya's demand. “We find the withdrawal of Kenya to be unfair, especially after extensive efforts were made to meet the federation’s requests,” Gecheo said.
Tanzania will face Uganda today as they await to play Senegal on Sunday, as Harambee stars continue with CHAN preparations
