The Kenyan national team continued their impressive run in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) group stage, securing a crucial 1-0 victory against their Moroccan counterparts on Sunday at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi. The win keeps the Harambee Stars at the top of their group.
The lone goal of the match came in the 42nd minute from star striker Ryan Ogam. He capitalized on a defensive error from the Moroccan backline, skillfully navigating past two defenders before unleashing a powerful left-footed shot that gave Lions goalkeeper Mehdi Leharrar no chance.
This victory adds to Kenya's strong start in the tournament, following a 1-0 win against DR Congo and a 1-1 draw against Angola. Morocco, meanwhile, began their campaign with a win over Benin.
The Atlas Lions will now face two crucial Group A fixtures: Thursday, August 14, against Zambia at Nyayo National Stadium (2:00 PM), and Sunday, August 17, against the Democratic Republic of Congo at the same venue (2:00 PM).
Kenya will look to maintain their momentum when they take on Zambia on Sunday, August 17, at 5:00 PM GMT.
