Transfer deadline day was mostly quiet until after the 22:00 EAT cut-off, when several major deals were finalized. Clubs still had until midnight (00:00 EAT) to complete transfers if deal sheets had been submitted before the deadline.
Alexander Isak’s exit was confirmed at 00:30 EAT, but a planned move for England defender Marc Guehi collapsed, as Crystal Palace refused to sanction the transfer after struggling to secure a replacement for their captain.
Shortly after confirming Isak’s departure, Newcastle announced the £55m signing of Yoane Wissa from Brentford.
Fulham also made headlines by breaking their transfer record with a £34.6m move for Shakhtar Donetsk’s Brazilian winger Kevin.
Manchester United strengthened their squad by signing Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp for £18.1m, while forward Jadon Sancho left for Aston Villa on a season-long loan. Villa also secured Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott on loan, with an option to buy.
Tottenham Hotspur added PSG striker Randal Kolo Muani on a loan deal, while Arsenal reinforced their defense with the temporary signing of Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie.
Meanwhile, newly promoted Sunderland carried on with their summer spending spree, bringing in Ajax duo Brian Brobbey and Bertrand Traore, along with RB Leipzig defender Lutsharel Geertruida on a season-long loan.
