P. Diddy, whose real name is Sean John Combs, has gone by several names throughout his career, including Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, Diddy, and Love. Recently, he legally changed his name to Sean Love Combs. He initially entered the music industry as Puffy in the 1990s.

Brooklyn, New York – The gavel has dropped on Sean “Diddy” Combs. In a landmark verdict that’s sent shockwaves through Hollywood and hip hop, a federal jury has found the music mogul guilty on two counts of transporting women across state lines for prostitution—charges tied to his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura and another woman identified only as “Jane.”

The ruling, delivered in July 2025, comes after months of explosive testimony, disturbing evidence, and mounting allegations that have shaken the Bad Boy founder’s public image and career to its core. While P Diddy was acquitted of more severe charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, he remains behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn. Prosecutors are now pushing for the maximum sentence: 20 years in prison.

The legal firestorm began in late 2023, when Ventura filed a bombshell lawsuit accusing P Diddy of rape, abuse, and sex trafficking during their relationship. Although that case was quickly settled for an undisclosed amount, it unleashed a tidal wave of claims. By October 2024, attorney Tony Buzbee announced that over 120 more lawsuits were in the pipeline, alleging years of sexual assault, drugging, and coercion dating as far back as the early 2000s.

In the courtroom, prosecutors painted a chilling picture of P Diddy as the ringleader of a shadowy operation involving “freak-offs”—drug-fuelled, multi-day sex parties where women were allegedly manipulated or forced into sexual acts while P Diddy watched. Among the most shocking revelations? Evidence from a raid on P Diddy's L.A. mansion that uncovered illegal drugs and over 1,000 bottles of baby oil—allegedly used during these gatherings.

Despite his celebrity defence team and strong denials of wrongdoing, the jury wasn't swayed. They delivered a partial conviction, signalling that while P Diddy avoided the most damning charges, the federal government still landed a significant blow.

P Diddy’s legal woes are far from over. He’s facing dozens of civil lawsuits, including accusations from a Florida model who claims she was drugged, sexually assaulted, and impregnated by Combs, and a shocking claim from a now-grown man who alleges he was sexually abused at just 10 years old in a New York hotel room back in 2005.

P Diddy has vehemently denied all allegations, calling them “false and defamatory,” with his legal team dismissing the lawsuits as opportunistic attacks targeting his fame and fortune.

Adding fuel to the controversy, one juror who voted to convict P Diddy on the prostitution charges slammed public speculation that fame influenced the jury’s decision. “It’s insulting,” the juror said. “We followed the facts. Period.”

As the music mogul awaits sentencing, his team has requested an expedited court schedule, but no date has been confirmed. Meanwhile, the entertainment industry and fans alike are watching closely—asking what this moment means for celebrity accountability in an era where silence is no longer an option.
